The School

The school has 210 pupils, representing one class of 30 pupils in each school year. There are still vacancies in Year 6, but we are heavily over-subscribed in the lower years.

The school is pleasantly situated between modern private housing and an established wood, with the local park and leisure centre across the road. The building, completed in August, is designed for education in the Millennium. It is cabled for excellent delivery of ICT both in a central library area and in classrooms. Each of the seven separate classrooms is carpeted, and there are additional practical areas. Younger children will enjoy the luxury of underfloor heating for story sessions on the carpet! A good-sized hall provides facilities for daily assemblies, PE, music and dining. Meals are provided from a servery kitchen. The school grounds includes a playground, playing field, and Nature Area.

Curriculum & Community

The school is working closely with parents and the wider community. We welcome parent help in school and through the support of a PFA. We are setting homework and working with parents to help children to reach their full potential. Children moving to us have been tested, and the results of assessments and records shared with parents and children. Together we can set ambitious targets to aim for.

Nursery

There is an attached 26 place (full -time equivalent) nursery.

Uniform

Parkview is a uniformed school, with dark green as the school colour and garments embroidered with the school logo.

Resources

Parkview families can already begin to support Parkview by preparing their children positively for their brand new school. We are looking for ways to increase our new resources, and would welcome any additions (Toyota have already given us £250). We are collecting any tokens for schools, and are organising a 'Sponsor a Library Book Scheme' - a school can never have too many books!
